SAILING
Every year Antigua hosts a ‘Sailing Week’ which is a big regatta with more than 1500 participants and an average of 200 yachts.
Antigua Sailing Week runs over 5-10 days with a number of races at various location around Antigua and Beach Parties. A full schedule can be
found from the ‘Sailing Week’ website: http://www.sailingweek.com
Of not everyone can take part in such a big event, especially if you don’t have a yacht! Nearly all of the hotels offer some
sort of sailing, mostly on small laser boats (big enough for 2 people at a time). If you are staying with a hotel/resort then usually the
non-motorised water-sports are free, but be sure to check with them first. There is also the H2OAntigua that offer
different types of sailing, and Sunsail Bareboat which is an excellent place to sailing around Antigua and discover the many beautiful hidden
bays (http://www.sunsail.com).
If you like the idea of sailing but don’t actually want to be in control yourself then you could take a trip of a catamaran with
Wadadli Cats (http://www.wadadlicats.com). Antigua Adventures (http://www.antiguaadventures.com)
also provide various sailing trips for those who want something a little different!
