FFRYES BAY
Overview
In Antigua a beach is never too far away! It is said that Antigua has three hundred
and sixty five beaches, one for each day of the year.
One of the many glorious beaches in Ffryes Bay. Located on the Northeast side of the
island, and nearly always calm, it is in many ways a traditional sun drenched, sandy beach. The thing that makes this
beach that little bit better than most is the way it is secluded from the view of the main road, and therefore is usually
very quiet. Looking from the main road you will only see a beaten dusty track leading up a hill, past an old ruin of a
sugar mill. As soon as you reach the crest of the hill you are given the view of the continuing dusty track leading to
the beach (pictured above).
With the contrast of the surrounding greenery, blue sky and rich blue ocean you are immediately
tempted to continue onward to the beach to dive into the cool, refreshing water. Standing on the water edge and looking out
across the ocean you can sometimes see nearby Monserrate shrouded in mist, which adds to the overall view.
Ffryes Bay is beautiful and just what the doctor ordered, definitely well worth a visit!
